Still Collecting.......

It has taken me some time to gather materials to start building my first puppet. I needed to send through the internet for some antron fleece. I have also needed through our local foam shop some riticulated foam. This took over a week to get it in. I also had to buy some dyes and foam core. I am slowly collecting some add on's to the puppet such as feathers, pipe cleaners and looking for fake fur.

It has been very difficult to get these materials locally in the Vancouver area that I live. However most stores have responded with great care and helping me connect with the right business to get these strange and lovely materials.

I will keep posting as the material's that are needed, are added and completed. This part has been the most frustrating and disappointing.

This is it.....

My life as a beginner puppeteer is just about to be under way. I have been in love with puppets most of my life and put on many puppet shows as a child right through to a teenager......then, I quess you could say, I grew up! I acted for many years in theatre and got my Secondary Education in the field of work with families and children in need. I continued my creative talents in Quilting and Stain Glass work.

As much as I enjoy and will continue both of these areas that I have grown fondly of. I have decided to go back to my roots and try my hand at puppet making and see where that takes me for the future.

The goal of this blog is help new comers in making puppets and to support each other as needed, I also encourage all the experts to quide us as well to help with producing more professional puppets!!
